The duo’s “Gorilla Monsoon” was produced by Griselda Records mainstay Daringer and now the two have turned the heat up even higher with a new track, “2Stings”, featuring production from Alchemist. Near the end of September DOOM released a first track with new collaborator Westside Gunn, under the moniker WESTSIDEDOOM.
The project’s announcement immediately had fans in a tizzy, wildly speculating about a new album, but few concrete details are yet known about the WESTSIDEDOOM collaboration. Still, “Gorilla Monsoon” and “2Sting” prove all the enticement any listener might need to keep an ear to the proverbial tracks. This new offering is the kind that DOOM has built his reputation on, and it seems like no matter when the opportunity arises, he still manages to deliver.
It has been just over three years since MF DOOM released his last studio album, a collaborative effort with Bishop Nehru under the name NehruvianDOOM. And over eight years have passed since Doom released his last solo effort, Key to the Kuffs.

Recently, fans of MF DOOM received the unfortunate news that the rapper’s Adult Swim Missing Notebook Rhymes series was declared dead in the water.
Within the rich landscape, DOOM and Westside Gunn deliver some of the season’s most aggressive lyrics, with the latter rapping at one point that he has placed “a price on ya baby mama’s head.” For obvious reason, the addition of Alchemist brings even more to the project. The prodigious producer draws in everything from piercing bells to Biz Markie samples, all backed by rumbling drums.
